Live Cooking Experiences
During the global Covid-19 pandemic, American Express was looking for a way to offer its customer base unique digital experiences that they could enjoy from the comfort of their own home. To that end, we were hired to help execute on a series of real time cooking demonstrations featuring professional (and in some cases famous) chefs from around the world. Amex card users could sign up and cook along with their favorite chefs, creating restaurant quality meals that they couldn't access otherwise due to the lockdown. In addition, each show allowed for unlimited audience Q&A so that participants could ask questions and get answers in real time as they cooked.
Most of these shows took place in the chef’s own home or restaurant kitchen. We covered each demonstration with 3-4 cameras, allowing us to show the cooking process in great detail. We also provided professional lighting and audio for each event. Due to legal requirements from Amex, these shows were produced using Zoom and then streamed to Vimeo for viewing.
This series was such a success that it extended well beyond the end of lockdown. In all, we produced over 25 of these shows over a 4 year period.
